These Boots Were Made For Walkin......

That's not what these boots do though. They're a little bit big ((if you can't tell)) for Dav. He LOVES LOVES LOVES shoes--just like his Dad. He climbed into Brady's work boots this morning and Brady went to put them on and Dav was so mad that he couldn't wear them anymore. He got another pair of Brady's shoes and put them on. He tried walking in them but it didn't quite work out. I can tell ya.....If he has the shoe fetish that his daddy does we're in some big trouble...but at least I'll be prepared for a high maintenance kid! The funny thing is, he use to HATE shoes being on his feet. When he was a baby he'd throw a fit and now when I ask him to get his shoes he's running to go get them so we can put them on. The first picture was when he was only about a month and a half old...The second was just this morning ((almost 16 months))...at least they don't go clear to his chest and you can see a little bit of his legs! Maybe someday he'll fit into them....

Britton Carter Brotherson

Bobbie and Lindsay just had there second little boy! They're very excited. He was 8 pounds 5 ounces and 19 inches long. He's a chunk and SO very cute! I think he looks a lot like Lindsay's dad right now and he looks a lot like Boston ((their first little boy)) too. Boston's hair is more of a brown then a red though. Lindsay told me that in all her ultra-sounds the nurses would laugh at how much hair he had and how long it was. They said they could just see his hair flowing. It wasn't a lie--you can definitely tell by the picture that he's got a ton of hair! Congratulations Lindsay and Bobbie!

The Joys Of Being Momma

So---I was doing laundry last night and we have a bathroom off of our laundry room. I was putting a load of clothes into the washer and I heard something cough behind me. Davin loves loves loves his sippy cups and can drink out of them really well--when they have the lids on. When they don't have the lids on he usually chokes on the water because he swallows to much and it spills down the front of him. I turned around to see what it was because as far as I knew, he was in the living room with Brady. Does anyone see where this is headed?????? He had one of his sippy cups---with the lid off---and it was full of water. Anyone want to guess where the water came from? If you guessed the toilet--you hit it right on the nose! HOW DISGUSTING IS THAT!? I was almost mad-I grabbed the cup and dumped it all down the sink and he looked at me and says "uck"----Uck is dang sure right! I seriously could not believe that. He had a belly ache after that and had to really really stinky diapers, but he's doing lots better today :)

Valentine Cookies

We spent Valentines Day at Dave and Jen's house. We went to the temple and did a session and then went out to breakfast. We got back and we felt like baking cookies. Davin was a little excited and kept sneaking his hand into to dough to eat it.

He really liked cutting the dough with the cookie cutter. He couldn't do it by himself of course but he had a death grip on the cutter! That's his Aunt Karlee ((Brady's youngest sister--she's 15)) that's holding him by the way.

See the little finger coming into the camera?? That would be Davin....and yes he poked a hole in one of the hearts and ate the dough that was left on his fingers!

Well we didn't get to go to church on Sunday because Davin's cough was really bad again. He seriously sounded like a dog. We didn't think he needed to get anyone else sick so we just let him stay home and rest. I got the urge to make cookies--the same kind we made with Jen. They were just simple sugar cookies. I'm not a very good baker AT ALL. Everything I've made since we've been married, I've ruined or burned or something--that's why Brady cooks! He had experience on his mission in Ukraine! Anyways, I made the dough and I thought "man I hope these turn out." So I decided to taste the dough to see if it tasted the same as Jen's did. IT DID!!! It tasted so good so I knew I was doing something right. So I cut mine out and put them into the oven and guess what....I MADE MY FIRST BATCH OF COOKIES WITHOUT RUINING OR BURNING THEM! You have no idea how excited I was. Brady even ate one and usually he's scared to even try anything. I guess what they say is true....practice makes perfect!

And...yeah that's a Denver Bronco shirt that Davin is wearing. My aunt Sue got that for him at my baby shower and the only reason she got it was because my Dad is a HUGE bronco fan. My mom is too! Brady tells everyone he's always whiny when he's in bronco clothes. He told Davin the other day "just because you're wearing the quarterback's jersey that whines all the time doesn't mean you have to be whiny too." I had to take a picture and send one to my mom and to my dad because they wouldn't believe that Brady would let him wear one. It looks cute on him though and that's all that matters to his momma!

Basketball Jones

Since his dad played basketball all his life--and his mom played volleyball--and since he can't really play volleyball--he's gonna play basketball. He loves being outside and it was pretty nice this last Saturday so we went out and let him shoot the ball a little bit.

I tried to lift him up but I couldn't so we just posed real quick for a cute picture :)

If the ball would get away from him he'd run after it until he saw the snow. He'd stick his finger in the snow and turn and just laugh at us. So when he got distracted by the snow we decided it might be a good time to go inside so we didn't have a wet baby on our hands. I was getting kinda cold anyways!

15 Month Check-Up

Davin's 15 month check-up was today. Everything is going really good. He is growing like a weed. Last time we went he weighed about 16 pounds and today he was 19 pounds 15 ounces and 28 inches long. He grew 2 inches and gained almost 4 pounds! He had to get his shots today to :(. He got 3 of them and it's always way sad when he does. When they stick the first one in he just starts screaming and his whole body tenses up and shakes. It's really hard for me not to cry because they make ME hold him! He's pretty funny with doctors though because if they're just listening to his heart beat or just touching him he'll scream and the minute they stop touching him he just looks at them and glares and is completely silent. Today after he got his shots the nurse ((her name is Shar)) asked if it was okay if he had a sucker. Of course he was screaming so I told her yes it'd be alright. She went and got her sucker basket and held it in front of him to let him choose one. He went to take one and stopped and pulled his hand back and looked at Shar and gave her the meanest glare I have ever seen! It was hilarious!! Then she just picked one for him and tried handing it to him and he wouldn't take it, so she handed it to me and he took the wrapper off and started eating it. He's a stinker but sure is smart if he can tell what those doctors are going to do. I'm happy all is well with him and that he's a healthy boy. His next appointment is in May, and he doesn't have to get shots. His next shots will be at his 2 year check up in November and then no shots until he gets into school! YAY!!

Once In A Great While.......

It's really rare...but I thought I'd post some pictures of Davin throwing a fit. It's really hard not to laugh when he does. He'll start fussing....

Then someone will pick him up to love on him....

Then he'll literally throw himself on the floor and roll around and kick his feet...I'm telling ya it's pretty entertaining to watch. I know I never threw fits like that so he must have gotten it from his dad :).

Then if you give him what he wants--which was a donut hole and up on the chair by the computer...he's a happy camper.
